Most services and attractions are less than 10 minutes' walk from Star of the Sea, so if your activities are focused locally you may decide not to rent a car. Other local transportation options include taxis, shuttle buses, and bus that can take you directly to Vancouver. There is of course public transit, and you can also rent bicycles, roller blades and motorized scooters just a few blocks away from Star of the Sea.

Ferry Tip:
Plan at least a ½ of a day for ferry travel. BC Ferries have the most sailings to and from the Island. Tsawwasen is located just south of Vancouver (50 km) and is easily reached from Seattle from interstate 5 or Highway 99 from Vancouver. You can make reservations for a particular ferry crossing which may save you hours waiting in line for the ferries. We strongly recommend this in the busy summer months and long weekends.
Seaplane and Helicopter Tip:
Call and note luggage requirements to ensure you are not over their limit for luggage. Generally the Helicopter services restrict luggage to 50 lb per person.
